SO beautifully written, Courtney! I love how Stella felt powerful after her salon experience, and how she was then able to imagine more ways to feel powerful. Inspiring.

Growing up as a kid, I had always found many of my mother's ways to be strange. It's only now that they strike me as unique wisdom. She refuses to use a dryer and believes in line hung clothes no matter the weather, thinks all you need when you are cranky is a good 'sandgwich' or ice cream cone and doesn't do emails, texts or letters because the power of a voice heals.
