I traveled on an airplane for the first time in over a year this week and I have some (re)breaking news for you: people watching is a revelation! First, it was the kid on the shuttle bus from the off-site parking lot, who had packed both his walkie talkies and two fortune cookies in his backpack. His parents lamented letting him pack his own bag, but I thought it was genius.
So wondrously expressed! Reminds me of Merton’s revelation one day when he was at an intersection and everything and everyone he saw was connected and shimmering in beauty. You help us remember that. Thank you

I’m on my first post-COVID trip and found joy in a laundromat in Seward Alaska: thru-hike camper trying to wash every/anything he wasn’t wearing; a harried mom doing the week’s laundry while her kids wheeled around in the laundry cart; a German tourist wondering if the tap water in the restroom was drinkable (who knew laundromats have restrooms!); and us, just happy to be traveling again, and seeing everyone else out Andy breathing fresh air. 😊
