A decade into our existence, FRESH has become a bunch of cool things:
We are a small, relational speakers bureau hellbent on disrupting the status quo on who the world hears from and how they are treated when they speak out. Read our manifesto here.
We are an online training academy that has worked with over 300 people from over two dozen different countries through partnerships with organizations like The Skoll Foundation, The Aspen Institute, Pivotal Ventures, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and more. Check FRESH Speakers Academy out here.
We are a lab putting out podcasts, white papers, and social media campaigns that push the world’s thinking on what “thought leadership” is and should be in this moment of polycrisis and possibility. You can find all things FRESH Labs here.
And now, we are a newsletter! This space is going to be our love letter to you–a person who no doubt has some really important things to say in the world and needs some support in figuring out how to say it, who to say it to, and how to get paid for your g-d labor and brilliance. You’ll find practical exercises on things like writing op-eds and TED-style talks, industry know-how (Who has money to pay for keynote and who doesn’t? How do you approach it if you don’t have an agent? etc. etc.), and reflective pieces on everything from poverty porn to collective thought leadership.
Today, we are also launching our signature podcast, The Greenroom, hosted by author and FRESH co-founder Courtney Martin, where we learn from some of the world’s most transformational advocates about how they flipped the script. Our first episode drops today with the ineffably wise and wonderful Ai-jen Poo:
We hope this newsletter becomes what all things FRESH become - a community of brilliant, big-hearted organizers, activists, educators, nonprofit leaders, and others who are eager to share what they know for collective uplift and have some fun while doing it.
